The Iron Tyrant prototype launched by Omega in 1957 is simple, practical, and elegant, designed specifically for railway workers or professionals working near magnetic fields. Now, the newly upgraded model inherits the innovative philosophy of the original watch, further enhancing the performance of the Iron Dominator.
The 40mm symmetrical case is crafted from stainless steel, with a corrugated edge design on the case back. The vertically matte black dial features matte stainless steel hands and inset vintage-style hour markers, all covered with Super-LumiNova luminous coating and a transfer of the beige “Railmaster” lettering, giving it a timeless classic touch.
The watch is paired with a fully matte stainless steel bracelet, and the directional screw-down case back uses a NAIAD clasp design (pending application) to ensure the engraving remains vertically aligned. Inside the watch is the Omega 8806 Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement. This Iron King watch is certified to the superb industry standards approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), capable of resisting strong magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, reminiscent of the prototype’s excellent anti-magnetic properties.
