The Cosmometer Daytona 18K gold model with a Cerachrom bezel is paired with an Oysterflex strap. This innovative strap, developed and patented by Rolex, combines the strength and reliability of a metal strap with the comfort of a rubber strap.
The inner strap is made of two curved elastic metal pieces, one on each side, while the outer layer is coated with high-performance black rubber injection-molded. To ensure greater comfort, the inside of the Oysterflex strap is equipped with a cushioning pad, and the Oysterflex safety clasp prevents accidental opening of the strap. The strap length can be adjusted using the Rolex Glidelock extension system.
Rolex has its own dedicated foundry that casts high-quality 18K gold alloy. By mixing in different amounts of silver, copper, platinum, or palladium, different types of 18K gold can be refined: gold, pink gold, or white gold.
All raw materials are forged from high-purity metals, and before gold is formed, they undergo meticulous testing in our in-house laboratory using advanced equipment, with every step being meticulously carried out. The watch’s diamond-set glossy black and stainless steel dial features a spray-painted chronograph subdial, while the 18K gold hour markers and hands are coated with a clear, easy-to-read Chromalight luminous material.

The watch’s signature feature is the outer ring of the molded speedometer, with a maximum speed of up to 400 miles per hour or kilometers per hour. The black bezel combines high-tech and elegant design, reminiscent of the 1965 watch with a black resin glass bezel.
The Cerachrom ceramic outer ring made with high technology offers many advantages: not only is it corrosion-resistant, scratch-resistant, but it also does not fade even when exposed to ultraviolet light. This outer ring is not only extremely durable but also clearly visible, using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating technology to coat numerals and scales with a platinum film, making the speedometer on the outer ring even clearer. The Cerachrom bezel is molded in one piece, helping to secure the crystal to the case and ensuring water resistance.
